Maharana Pratap

He stayed in Jungles,

Slept on floor, ate simple food

He got Mewad back…

Rana Pratap fought Akbar and his army and built his own army from the tribals, “Bhils”, he met in the Aravalli ranges, when his relatives and the others did not help him.

The Charan Durshaji Aadha has written 72 Duha’s (verses) on the greatness of Rana Pratap and has sung them in presence of Akbar, which everyone needs to read.

Will share a few of them here for you all to read and understand them…

गिर उंचो गिरनार, आबु गिर ओछो नही ;

वुहा वडेरा वाट, वाट तिकण वेहणो विसद ;

अकबर गर्व न आण, हिन्दु सब चाकर हुआ ;

मन अकबर मजबूत, फुट हिन्दुआ बेफिकर ;

अकबर किना याद, हिन्दु नॄप हाजर हुआ ;

कलजुग चले न कार, अकबर मन आंजस युंही ;

कदे न नमावे कंध, अकबर ढिग आवेने ओ ;

चितवे चित चितोड, चित चिंता चिता जले ;

Totally there are 76 verses which the poet without any fear has sung them in from of Akbar.

Will urge all my readers to find these verses and learn and appreciate the poetry of the poet.

Rana Pratap had defeated Akbar’s forces many a times but it is not known to us as the history we study does not tell us. Historians call Akbar the Great and as a saviour of all, then why did Rana have to live in the jungles of Aravalli? Had he gone there for a picnic? History is quiet about this. Why? Can we not give justice to Maharana Pratap?he had taken a pledge to live in the jungles and sleep on the floor and eat simple food till He drives Akbar and his forces out of India.

Today on His birthday, bow down to this Great warrior and all His ancestors!!!

Haiku #54

I have shared with you

The biggest secret of life,

Think, Do as you wish… // 18 //

The biggest secret of how to decide between the “Aapad Dharm” ( personal action) and “Samashti Dharm” (social action) and even after the revelation, Bhagwaan calls upon Arjun, to think, and do as he feels fit.

This is the essence of Shreemad Bhagwad Geeta. The whole of Geeta can be understood in this single sentence. Even after all the talk, Bhagwaan leaves it upto our intellect to decide what we feel is right. In the world, when everyone who advises wants the advised to follow what he says, Bhagwaan says exactly the opposite. Can we stand up to this test? Let’s think…

PS : (This post is going to be a bit long one then regular Haiku posts).

Today, my dear readers, I could do what I had decided. It was on October 10th, that had decided that would write Haiku on the different shlok of Geeta. 18 shlok from 18 chapters in first month, 18 in the second and 6 each next 3 month. With the grace of God and blessings of my spiritual teacher Poojaniya Pandurang Shastriji Athavale, am able to do this. It is my way of expressing gratefulness to whatever He has taught me, as this is the 100th year of His coming onto this Earth.

If I have erred during these 54 Haiku’s it is my mistake or misunderstanding of the thoughts, propagated by Him based on Shreemad Bhagwad Geeta.

I just pray to God and my Elder brother (fondly we call him Dadaji), that may this world be enlightened with the thoughts they have explained and may the citizens of the world see light through them, to lead a better life.

I personally thank each and every reader, who has taken the pains to read, ask, share and comment on the same. It has been a very Divine experience for me as I got a chance to sit back and think over the whole process and writings. With His grace, will take up new writings, new topics and share with you all, whenever He permits me.

Haiku #53

Yadnya, Daan, Tap, Food

Shraddha are all Triguna

According to grasp… // 17 //

The 17th Chapter is all important as the others. Bhagwaan describes the different aspects of life in context with the Trigunas. We need to read, reread and understand and decide which type are we. Bhagwaan goes to the extent of making us understand what type of food should we eat.

The chapter also talks about “Om”, the initial symbol, from which the Universe is said to have evolved. Hence all the Vedic mantras are recited with “Om” in the beginning. “Om”, “Tat” and “Sat” are the three names of the Universal form, from which everything has come.

Shastras guide Humans

Act accordingly, and you

Will be enlightened… // 16 //

The Chapter 16 of Bhagwadgeeta tells the Humans to act according to what the Vedas and the Upanishads guide us to do. Bhagwaan further says that only then will be happy and liberated from the cycle of life.

At the beginning of this chapter, Bhagwaan has talked about the values of “Gods” and “Asuras”. Let my readers be clear, that Indian Philosophy and Theology have no concept of Devil in them. Every thing is Humane, but called out Devas, Asuras and Rakshas according to their way of thinking and living.
