Morning Musings… 13 (Makar Sankranti)

The vastness of the sky and the kites fly high,

The boys shouting “lapet” and see the girls sigh;

Kaipo chhe” and wishes of Tirmoori and Lohri,

Fills our lives with fun and reveal our ancient glory;

The whole of India celebrates the movement of the Sun,

From Kashmir to Kanyakumari, khichadi in the ton;

The sweetness of Jaggery, the sesame seeds aliphatic,

Makes our body ready for summer and pragmatic;

So wishing you the best of Sankranti celebrations,

A time to build nurture and care for relations…

Wishing you all my readers a very Happy Lohri, Bihu, Bhogi, Pongal, Tirmuri, Makar Sankranti and Uttarayan.
