Thoughts… (4)

Yesterday the world celebrated Women’s Day.

Talks about gender equality, women empowerment and what not. But friends frankly it is thorough western concept. Cause women here in India are already empowered.

Even today, it is the man who earns his salary, comes back home and puts all his salary in his wife’s hand and let’s her decide and run the house. She single handedly manages everything at every time. The man stands by her strongly and advocates to follow all her decisions.

Yesterday was another day for me to see the emotional side of a women.

Just sharing what my wife did for women’s day. She is a working women and manages the household too. Her friends had suggested to go out for a party but She and our neighbour decided otherwise. Instead they called up our house help today evening for dinner. She was told to come for help as guests were invited for dinner and my wife will not be able to manage. Then my wife and our neighbour bought a cake and cooked a surprise dinner for her. When she came, she was in for a surprise!

She was requested to cut the cake and then we all shared dinner together. Its was an overwhelming experience for us all. Even our house help shared that it is the first time that someone has treated her in this way.

She has been a widow from a very small age with kids to take care of. She has performed all her duties well and today her kids are settled and living on their own. Isn’t it great?

Well am never against celebrating anyone and especially women, but always would like an indian perspective to it.

Am really proud of my wife. Lucky to have her in my life.

Happy Woman’s Day
