Poem #31

The days are returning back to normal

And the relations are again turning formal,

The love, the warmth, the care, we had,

Are slowly turning to nothing but a fad...

Humankind is returning to it’s old ways,

Nor has the epidemic, his thoughts swayed,

The cribbing, the competition, the politics of life,

Will lead to nothing but a life full of strife

Oh God, when will we, understand the purpose

Not only of being human, but his vices to douse,

To imbibe the virtues and help oneself and others,

And live the life to fullest, and no one to bother…

  1. I see it the other way…! Things are definitely returning to normal but this time I am sure those who are truly intelligent will come out not just for earning themselves a livelihood but for a purpose larger than self, I trust that people must have pondered and realised that it takes a lot of collective efforts to run things the right way and well-being is a luxury/blessings and not a phenomenon that is a given ‘just by the way’!!! Let our Hopes be about collective optimism rather than normalization of grief!!
