  2. Oh god
My children were very much fond of Popeye .
I still remember only after watching Popeye series she gets ready to school.she never misses to watch.
My son is a great fan of Tom and Jerry.
He gets tips from that to tease his sister. 😂
    Memorable days.

  3. What a strange coincidence to learn this now. I was just singing the Popeye song to the kids at lunch – because I served spinach – very rare, since they don’t like it, preferring lettuce – and I was trying to get the little one to eat it. 🎶”I’m fit to the finish, ’cause I eats me spinach.” (He ate it after that. 🥬😆💪Sometimes singing actually works. ;))

Popeye and other “carry on” (in the face of oppression/opposition) characters were a good influence, which now carry through through generations.

Thanks for sharing this, Ameet; and RIP Gene Deitch.
