Haiku #13

I say nothing new,

The scriptures, the sages have

Already said so… // 13 – 4 //

The humility of the Lord reflects in this shlok. He says that He is just repeating what the sages have said and the scriptures have written. This is a beacon to all the budding writers who feel that they are the creators and think otherwise. Let’s be Humble.

The shlok for your reference :
ऋषिभिर्बहुधा गीतं छन्दोभिर्विविधै: पृथक्
ब्रह्मसूत्रपदैश्चैव हेतुमद्भिर्विनिश्चितै: ।।
Great sages have sung the truth about the field and the knower of the field in manifold ways. It has been stated in various Vedic hymns, and especially revealed in the Brahma Sūtra, with sound logic and conclusive evidence.

  2. That’s the logical serenity in our scriptures. If Krishna would have stated even one new rule, there would have been a new religion in his name and he would have been made prophet by people. But, that can not be Law eternal, it is Law temporary (because something new each time means non eternal) for attuning minor evolutions of human groups (subset of grand truth). Eternal law or Dharma needs to be true and complete set forever. Thus, whatever God spoke, was already uttered by him as many creations in many Kalpas/Manvantaras. Thus, truth is one and hence this shloka!
