Ganga Dasshara – 5

गङ्गा गङ्गेति यो ब्रूयाद्योजनानां शतैरपि ।
मुच्यते सर्वपापेभ्यो विष्णुलोकं स गच्छति ॥

My readers, after a brief stint with Poetries and Shayari’s on Maa Ganga, let us turn our attention today to Her flow. To witness it we are blessed with the pictures and videos from Gangotri to Ganga Sagar.

Today I want to talk less and let the pictures do the talking for me.

We begin our pilgrimage from Ganga Glacier to Gaumukh to Gangotri Dham.

The Bhagirathi and the Alaknanda merging

Gangotri Dham

From there to Rishikesh – Laxman Jhula

And Haridwar – Ganga Aarti

To Patna – Gandhi Ghat

And the most divine Triveni Sangam – Prayaagraj

Onto Kashi, Banaras and the famous Ganga Aarti

And lastly to Kolkatta – Dakshineshwar Mandir on Her ghats

And the culmination at Ganga Sagar.

A beautiful journey from the Shiv in the mountains to the Vishnu in the oceans…

A journey to cherish…

Am sure that the actual journey would be quite happiness giving, enlightening and divine…

Pray to Maa Ganga to make us capable to see, feel and understand Her journey…

I end today with a couplet shared by one of my good friends, a poet by heart and words, a brother – in – arms and a rational yet God – loving human being, Gaurang.

मां, तेरे प्यार को मैं चातक सा तरसूं,
काश ! तू आए बादल से सावन होकर ।
