Two days after Hanuman Jayanti…
Tried writing yesterday itself, but stopped mid way, deleted it…
In the evening saw visuals of celebrations of Hanuman Jayanti in various parts of India and the politicisation of the whole festival, so took to writing again…
Am least interested in the politics of Ram and Hanuman but equally distressed at our ideals being politicised…
The question that came to my mind is that what would they feel when they see themselves being “used” up by Humans in this manner? Did they come here for this?
Also at the same time came up questions in my mind is that have the westerners and their system of education somewhere succeeding in bringing our ideals out of our hearts and prayers and into the dirty mud slinging arena of secularism and non secularism…
Our generation and next have started asking questions about them being mythological and making fun of Hanuman as monkey god… The education today has been somewhere succesful in lessening our faith in them…
The reason is that our so called religion and way of life has become unscientific… So it is easy for so called secularists to question our faith and our ideals…
The relation between Hanuman and Ram should be studied and understood…
They shared a bond of a teacher and a disciple so much so that even after so many years the darshan of Ram without darshan of Hanuman is considered incomplete…
Dedication of Hanuman towards Ram the best example for a student…
Samarpan of Hanuman towards the work of Ram the best example for a devotee (bhakt)…
‘Dasatva’ of Hanuman towards Ram the best example for a ‘Siddhapurush’…
Who is this Hanuman? Who is this Maruti?
Maruti the son of Anjani and Kesari…
Maruti the incarnation of Marut, the God of wind…
Maruti, the one who has won over his senses…
Maruti the most gifted intellectual persona (buddhimataam varishtham)…
We cannot even imagine that in the society of Vanar – the ones who had a doubt about themselves being humans, would be born a person (Maruti) who is called the intellect personified… The presence of mind, the balanced reaction to the situation and the understanding of a person’s psychology is a big example He sets in front of us…
Once he reaches the Ashoka Vana and sees Mother Sita, he just does not jump in front of Her… But sits on the top of a tree and starts reciting the life of Ram… Only when he knows that Sita would now understand, does He goes in front of Her and delivers the Lord’s message…
On another occasion Ram while returning to Ayodhya from Vanvaas sends Maruti with a message to Bharata about his arrival… He chooses Maruti as He is confidant that Maruti will read Bharat’s mind as Ram did not want to takeover from Bharat the kingdom of Ayodhya, which Bharat, after 12 years of rule could be naturally inclined too…
When Sita gives Him a pearl necklace, he starts finding Ram in them by breaking the pearls in them… People laugh at Him when He explains to them that Ram resides in His heart… What love! What samarpan! What humbleness!…
Many an examples can be cited from His life…
The incident of a boy when asked by his teacher on whether he would like to be Das Maruti or Veer Maruti as explained by Pujaniya Pandurang Shashtriji Athavale has left a big imprint on my mind… The boy answers Das Maruti… Teacher asks the reason as being Veer would be so attractive at his age… The boy replies that if he would be a Das Maruti then all other things will follow…
This is the greatness of our ideals…
Do the people in the streets dancing or fighting to celebrate the occasion of Hanuman Jayanti understand this? Do they know this? Have they read the character of Hanuman and taken it in its true spirit?
I leave this question for my readers to answer…
The so called religious masses all around the nation want only recreation in the name of festivals. They do not even bother to understand the spirit behind.

Everyone may or may not know in detail. But I do believe everyone will known little bit about Lord Hanuman and his power as our elders share stories with us on Hindhu puranas and God.

Yes Divyaji… but we need to go ahead of our Puranas… look into the Vedas and the Upanishads… as we grow older we need to understand the scientific and reason based lives of our ancestors…
